77  | 六月，以張璁、桂蕚為翰林學士，方獻夫為侍講學士。先是，蕚疏既上，廷臣方具議，璁復疏言「今日之禮不在皇與不皇，而在考與不考」蕚又言「陛下承祖宗大統執政，乃無故任，巳私為不道，使陛下終身為無父人逆倫。悖義若此，猶可使與斯議哉」二人疏同上帝，故趣召之。既而獻帝已追尊本生皇考，閣臣請停召命，帝不得已從之。二人已在道，意大沮喪，乃復合疏請與禮官面質，且云：「本生對所後而言，若不亟去此二字，則雖稱皇考，實與皇叔無異」。疏入，帝復召二人，比至都，衆洶洶，欲倣先朝馬順故事，斃之于廷蕚，懼不敢出。璁越數日始朝，恐有伺者出東華門走匿武定侯郭勛家勛大喜，約為內助。時給事中張翀等連章劾璁、蕚及方獻夫、席書諸人，章下所司。翀彚送刑部尚書，趙鑑即列璁等罪狀上請，私相語曰：「倘得愈㫖，便撲殺之」。帝亷知之，特命璁、蕚為學士。獻夫為侍講學士，切責翀。鑑學士。豐熈、修撰舒芬、楊慎張衍慶、編修王思等皆不願與璁、蕚同列，乞罷歸，帝怒，俱奪俸。璁、蕚以議禮驟貴，于是閑罷失職，武夫小吏皆望風希指，抗論廟謨矣。 |
