2  | 初，乾隆二十九年命宗人府、內閣考核宗室王公功績，輯為《表》一卷，詳列封爵世系；《傳》五卷，第一卷、第二卷為親王，第三卷為郡王，第四卷為貝勒、貝子、鎮國公、輔國公，第五卷為王貝勒獲罪褫爵而舊有勛勞者。通三十一人。又附傳二十一人，於乾隆三十年六月告成。嗣以所述簡親王喇布、順承郡王勒爾錦、貝勒洞鄂事實皆不詳悉。又《順承郡王傳》中「生有神力」之語，亦涉不經。乃詔國史館恭檢實錄紅本，重為改撰。前《表》後《傳》，體例如舊。立傳人數亦如舊，而事必具其始末，語必求其徵信，則視舊詳且核焉。考古者同姓分封，惟周為盛。然文昭武穆，惟魯公伯禽有淮徐之功耳。 |
