同日，馬知節知樞密院事。曹利用、任中正、周起並同知樞密院事。起字萬卿，淄州人。

四月癸卯，馬知節罷知樞密院事。知節自天禧元年九月除知樞密院，是年四月罷，再入樞府凡七月。恩顧極厚，素病足，特許內朝別為一班，省其舞蹈。未幾疾甚，賜告，上親臨其第，謂之曰：「久不相見，思卿而來。」病既久，乃罷為節度，留京師，卒，贈侍中，謚正惠。知節慷慨，以武力智謀自喜，又能好書，賓友儒者，所與善必一時豪傑。遇事謇謇，未嘗有所顧憚，天下至今稱其直云。六月乙未，曹利用知樞密院事。十二月辛卯，曹利用、丁謂並樞密使。時輔臣以郊恩俱進官。故事，嘗為宰相而除樞密使，始得遷僕射，乃以謂為檢校太尉，兼本官，充使。樞密使舊兼御史大夫，自利用始去之。再入政府一年，至四月，拜相。
