廖燕（1644年 - 1705年）清初文學家和思想家，初名燕生，字人也，號柴舟、夢醒，韶州曲江（今廣東韶關）人。他一生貧困潦倒，以塾師為生計，但他在文學上成就較高。廖燕十九歲補為秀才後放棄了學業，在武江西岸建起「二十七松堂」潛心于經史、古文辭。康熙十五年發生三藩之亂，他曾加入清軍。其文恣肆犀利，他反對科舉制度和八股文，對程朱理學及儒家傳統史論，多持異議。論詩反對模擬堆砌，所作抒寫懷抱，不事雕琢，隱含對現實不滿。康熙四十四年去世。
廖燕的著述頗豐，但因其僻居于南境，一生布衣，因而文章流傳不廣，現有《二十七松堂集》傳世，並有雜劇《醉畫圖》、《訴琵琶》等。1862年，《二十七松堂集》流傳到了日本，頗受歡迎，日本人伊豫近藤元粹在1884年將廖燕列為中國明清文壇八大家之一。
