《贞观政要》是一部政论性的历史文献，为唐代史学家吴兢所撰，共有十卷，分四十篇。
在四库全书之中为史部杂史类。
《贞观政要》一书以君臣对答的方式，分类编撰贞观年间唐太宗和身边大臣魏徵、王圭、房玄龄、杜如晦、虞世南、褚遂良、温彦博、刘洎、马周、戴胄、孔颖达、岑文本、姚思廉等四十五人的政论，方便后人参考前人经验，以古为镜，择善而从。
可能因为与作者吴兢同为谏臣的缘故，魏徵在书中的地位重要。吴兢完成此书之后曾经上呈给当时的皇帝唐玄宗，不料非但没有得到赞赏，反而因此而被贬官。
